About Puppy Training

Your Australian Labradoodle was not born with manners. During those first 8 weeks with us at Cotton Creek Labradoodles, much time is spent socializing puppies by providing them with a stimulating environment that is fun and challenging too. All of our activities help prepare confident puppies who are ready to take the next steps; training and obedience.

We expect families of all of our Australian Labradoodle puppies to participate in a training program. There are numerous training philosophies, so it is important to research programs in your area. Puppies can attend a puppy kindergarten, just discuss the sanitation protocols with the facility. Board Training is available and we have a couple of trainers we recommend. However, even with Board Training, we expect families and puppies to attend a training class. It is important for you and your puppy in the bonding process as well as teaching your puppy manners and behavioral expectations when around other dogs.

For online training we recommend Baxter and Bella.  They have a thorough curriculum that is fun and supportive.  Check out their free podcasts.   Use the code COTTONCREEK to receive a discount.

In the Atlanta metro area, we recommend Comprehensive Pet Therapy and Peach on a Leash.   We also recommend Board Training with our friend, Laurie and her team of amazing trainers.

We also recommend that our puppy families read The Puppy Primer by Patricia McConnell.
